Assistant Professor (CSE)

PhD, 2007 (Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur)

Brief Bio

I grew up in the city of Kolkata (state West Bengal) in India. I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University, India and my PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. My advisors were Prof. P. P. Chakrabarti and Prof. Rajeev Kumar. After my graduation I joined Mentor Graphics Pvt. Ltd and worked as a staff engineer in the Precision (FPGA Synthesis) tool for the next 5 years (3 years at Mentor-Noida and 2 years at Mentor-Fremont). Next, I had a brief postdoctoral stint at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From June 2012 to July 2013, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Robotics Institute, CMU with Prof. Maxim Likhachev.
While my general research interests include all aspects of combinatorial optimization, I primarily focus on the problem solving methodologies under resource constraints. Most of my current work involves design and analysis of graph search based algorithms working under different type of constraints/uncertainties.
